The Third Branch Fund

With the Supreme Court’s decision in Marbury v. Madison (1803), the third branch of government, the judicial branch, gained the authority to declare laws and executive orders null and void if they conflict with the Constitution. The Third Branch thus became a check against abuses by the other two branches. Donations to the NJC’s Third Branch Fund help the College prepare judges to fulfill this enormous responsibility and all other duties of office.
